Dipping my Toe back in.....

Well there you go....
2 Blogposts in one month....grin....

I'm on a creative binge ....
been craving to do some assemble pieces
and I guess today was the day to start again.

'The Wisdom Garden'

Had a blast this morning for a few early A.M. hours
as you never know when the creative bug is going to bite!

Luckily I have a couple of these fun
from

And a pack of old school scrapbook papers
from

And with bits and bob goodies from
and some pins and bobbles ...

I love that Retro Cafe Art allows choices
of a hanging hole in the back of the kit
or not, giving a choice of sitting on a shelf,
or hanging on a wall.
( I have so little shelf space any more and can always
find a spot to hang things, so I really appreciated
the ability to choose).

Great fun :)

I've also had a bit of a creative weekend of
experimenting with old papers hanging around
the art room, and dug out one of my old clunker
sewing machines....

With some graphic help from

Had some creative fun sewing bits and bobs to
background papers and making some
different kinds of collages.

Had too much fun.......grin.....

Anyway, I'm feeling really good about
getting some fun, creative, 'me' time,
and you never know, it's only Monday.....
might get some more time in!

Hope you get some creative time too!!

Cheers!

Happy Canada Day Holiday Weekend!
And a Happy July 4th Holiday Weekend to the U.S. too!

Thought with the extra time off this Holiday Weekend,
I'd not only get a bit of much needed art time in, but
would also touch base with you all as it's been a couple
of months since my last post!
Wow! Sorry about that!
But I am sure as busy as everyone is these days,
all will be forgiven, as it's been a busy couple of
months around here too!

I'll start with todays project
I just completed.
A bit of a tribute to one of our
dearly departed a while back birds,
Ms. Connie Conure

Connie was with us a very short life,
born with a weak heart, and came to us
just after my Mum's passing. Connie was
just 12 weeks old when she arrived and
was a total delight.

And was totally spoiled by us too.....grin.....

During the few years that Connie was with us,
she inspired so much of my creative arts and crafts...
and seemingly became part of many projects.
(Graphics used in this Digital Page were from the Fabulous
Tumble Fish Studio)

Anyway, long story short.....
It's been a few years since Connie left us and this world,
but I had one last project in mind as I had kept one
last shoulder feather of hers, for years now,
one of the most beautiful
as she only had two red feathers, one on each shoulder, and rarely ever dropped either.

Now, I don't proclaim to be a jewelry maker.
Occasionally I make something,
( other than the wood bracelets I love to make and share),
that is strictly personal, for me to occasionally wear,
but rarely to share, as I said,
I don't think I'm all that clever with jewelry making.
But I was pleased with this today.
'Flying Broken'

I'm sorry to say, that I don't remember the company
that I purchased the case from, but today I was finally
inspired to make something with it.
I found a butterfly wing today, and it triggered the
big search through the art room to find the casing
I just knew I had somewhere....
Once found, using Dylusions Inks and card stock,
made the background piece.
Double sided as the case is.
Using Lazier Cut-Outs of a myriad of words
from

and a Vintage rosary also from Retro Cafe Art Gallery
I finally made something of tribute to our
Dear Connie's last feather.
She made so much of her very short life,
even though she was flying broken
and she's with us forever for it.

Even though it's been a few year now,
I still miss my lunchtime routine of doing dishes
while she sat in my garden window in front of
me having her lunch...

It was a nice way to spend Day 1 of the Holiday Weekend,
quietly being creative....have missed my art time.

But I still have been having a wee bit most days
of my Early A.M. Coffee and Art Time I tend
to celebrate on Facebook most mornings....

Lots of quickie inchie arts....
(makes it so easy with wonderful graphics from

And lots of 4x6 Post Card Arts too....

And tons of Digital Page Play too!
With the help from

And Tumble Fish Graphics....

Love Ms. Marsha's Graphics from Tumble Fish...
they always speak to me....

And when you use them all together.....

You can truly have some
creative Me time....

So again, sorry for the long time since
I've posted, but as you can see....there is still
art play happening....and I'll alway
be back again to share and hopefully inspire!

Have a Great Holiday Weekend!
Cheers!!!

A Bit of Art Time Hope in the Forecast...

Woo Hoo! Tax Season is all signed, sealed, delivered and done!
That is something to Celebrate.

I find each year, I put off my mojo with the looming and ever present tax season that creeps into the brain....
Never wanting to use my precious brain cells for practical things as I age, the idea of counting figures, and playing with invoices never is as appealing as playing with paper and scissors....

The very same day that weeks of working on returns was over,
I dug out my wonderful graphics library of goodies just to have a play with some digital works to get the mojo into gear....
Crowabout StudioB over at Mischief Circus gave me a good start.

It's funny once you start, time just slips away, along with the
list of other things you should be doing.....grin......

And before you know it, you get the urge to get down to some major mojo time.....
( don't know who's the worst for being an influence, Crowabout StudioB, or Tumble Fish Studio or Miles Beyond the Moon, or
Itkupilli....but it's all their fault....grin)

So I carved out some time, which set a prickly mood for those wanting my attention.....and set forth with some
Cut and Paste in mind.....

Testing the waters of Mojo with a ATC seemed like
a good idea, and Tumble Fish Studio's Girlie Faces
always sets me off....grin....

...found for such a small piece like an ATC that I still
yearned to let the mojo loose.....HA!

Inches were fun, but not quite what I was yearning for...
(although, I now have been motivated with these great graphics from Art Chix old series, and have jars of pre-cut Inches, in the ready for another batch when the mood strikes and time is at the premium!)

Graduated to some tags.....which leads to Washi Tape ....grin...

Which leads to Post Card Arts....
All those cereal boxes pre-cut into 4 x 6 cards
just made it so simple to carry on!
And do my part for recycling! GRIN

By this time, days into my mojo waking up,
and with all the motivating yumminess of
of such an assortment of fabulous graphics to
play with...

I finally managed to get to a BIG page bit of art time play....

Wonderful Graphics, and Washi Tape and Stamps, Inks,
and Stains and oh my.....
Thank you Tumble Fish Studio and Crowabout StudioB
and
Miles Beyond the Moon and Itkupilli
for all of the support or should I say influence...grin.

After a week of play time, I now find myself thinking about
projects like assemblages....seems the mojo has been
dusted off, reenergized and has come to life again!
Now if it would just quit raining and let Spring arrive!
Think of all the outdoor projects I can put off doing
for some Art Time! HA!!!

Hope You get some Art Time too!!

ENJOY!

Almost Spring!

Hello Everyone!
Many, many global changes with running
an old version of Blogger, with many
new regulations.
I thought for sure, I'd posted a couple
of posts since the beginning of the New Year,
but for some reason, they seem to be missing.
I'm receiving messages about things like
cookies, and such, ( and not the sweet eatable kind),
and I'm not aware of any cookies on my blog,
but there might be with any of the links attached.
Not being so technically inclined, although I thought
I was really clever keeping 'old' blogger going :)

Anyway....
Not much new to report, other than some dabbling
in the arts...

Pleased to say that Ms. Marsha
over at Tumble Fish Studio is back
from semi-retirement!!!

She's released a few new kits since her return,
and I've been so pleased to have a play with them!
( Missed you Ms. Marsha! Welcome back!)

I do so enjoy working with Digital Graphics...

And always enjoy working with
Tumble Fish Studio Graphics :)

GRIN...

And that led me into more playing around
this time with Itkupilli and Miles Beyond the Moon's
wonderful graphics....

...channeling my inner snarky, moody self with these....

And this past few weeks....
switched up to some
Daily Coffee and Art Time in the Early A.M....

Some Cut and Paste
Post Card Art has been my latest addiction, with the
help from Crowabout StudioB and Tumble Fish
and others :)

It's also allowing me to get my HUGE Collection
of Washi Tape out!

I do love Washi Tape......

Can you tell I'm ready for Spring.....

So that's what I've been up too over the past
couple of months....

In amongst the snow flurries we've been having
out of the ordinary, I'm sitting here channeling Spring :)

So Hope You All
are getting some Art and Creative Time
in your weekly routine!
I know it's tax season time coming, so make sure
you reward yourselves with some creative 'You' time!!!

Enjoy!
